It was the home opener for the Whitefish Bulldog Football team, Friday night, as they played host to Corvallis.

The Dawgs would secure a 21-20 come from behind victory for their 2nd win of the season, first at home.

Whitefish found themselves down early as the Blue Devils scored on their first two possessions of the game and led 12-0.

Whitefish would begin to claw back late in the 1st as Carson Gulick found CJ Thew on a 60 yard touchdown pass to get the Dawgs back in it.

The story of the first half was errors, as the Dawgs would commit plenty of unforced mistakes: From having punts blocked to snaps going over the head of the quarterback and punter.

The Blue Devils would score late in the 2nd and took a 20-7 halftime lead.

Things would change in the 2nd half. Corvallis opened up the 3rd quarter with an 8-minute long drive that ended in a turnover on downs. Whitefish would then find their rythym. The Dawgs answered with a dominant drive, taking 4 minutes off the clock, that showcased big play after big play. Cole Moses and Calvin Eisenbarth would each haul in 30 plus yard grabs and Gulick found paydirt from 1 yard out to cut into the lead, 14-20.

After forcing the Blue Devils to punt, Thew delivered a great punt return that set up the Dawgs at about the 35 yard line. Then the play of the game happened. On 2nd and 13 Carson Gulick would take the ball 66 yards, to the house, on a designed quarterback run.

The Dawgs closed out the game with stifling defense and a tremendous run game. Gulick's legs led the final drive that saw the Dawgs kneel it down at the oppositions one yard line to seal things.

The Dawgs finished the game with 343 yards of total offense (159 passing, 184 rushing).

Corvallis accumulated about 293 yards of total offense (226 passing, 67 rushing).
