The Winter Sports Season is just around the corner and Whitefish High School has released it's schedules for the upcoming 2024-25 Winter Sports Season.
Whitefish High has four winter sports on their calendar. There's also a speech and debate team, as well.
The Four Winter Sports at Whitefish are: Men's and Women's Basketball, Wrestling and Swimming.
The basketball teams will officially hold their first practice/tryouts on Monday November 25th.
The first basketball games of the season take place in Frenchtown Friday-Saturday December 13th and 14t at the Wester "A" Tip-off tournament.
Bob Bolam returns as Head Coach of the girls basketball team while Alex Gonzalez will coach the boys team.
Both teams first home games will be Thursday, January 9th, playing host to Eureka.
The first Cat-Dog rivalry game is scheduled for Friday January 24th in Columbia Falls.
Whitefish hosts the Western "A" Divisional Tournament Thursday-Saturday March 6th through the 8th.
This year's Class "A" State Tournament is at the Metra in Billings March 13th through 15th.
As for wrestling, they will host their first practice of the season, Thursday November 21st.
The Wrestling team has a new head coach this year as Tom Gualtier takes over the helm of the program with David Martin the Assistant Coach.
The first wrestling match of the season is scheduled for the weekend of December 6th and 7th in Polson for the Owen Invitational.
The wrestling team has two home matches this year.
Thursday January 2nd will be the Whitefish Triangular.
Friday January 31st will be the Whitefish Duals.
The Western "A" Divisional Tournament will be in Browning February 7th & 8th with State in Billings the following week.
The Swimming team will begin practice Monday November 25th.
Head Coach of the Whitefish Swim team is Rachel Meyer.
The first swim meet of the season is the Kalispell Invite Saturday December 14th.
Whitefish Swim has one home meet, which will be Friday February 7th. It's the Dog-Cat Invite at the Wave.
The All Class State Meet will be Thursday-Saturday, February 13th through 15th at Great Falls.
