The Whitefish Bulldog Basketball teams were back in action, Tuesday night, with the boys at home and the girls on the road.
Both teams were matched-up against Libby and in search of much needed win.
The Dawgs, coming into this game on a 3-game skid, new things needed to change.
The first quarter felt more like a feeling out process with Libby taking advantage of Whitefish being in foul trouble while the Dawgs took advantage of finding their spots offensively. Whitefish led after 1, 13-12.
Speaking of foul trouble, the Dawgs were without both their point guards to start the 2nd, CJ Thew had 3 fouls and Will Sisson had a pair. Because of the foul issues, in stepped Aiden Rickels. Rickels, after playing big minutes in the JV game, provided a spark in the varsity game. He cam in, hit a 3-pointer immediately, showed a tenacity on defense and took care of the ball. With him on the court the Dawgs would put together a 22 point period and led 35-23 at the half.
The Dawgs would erupt in the 3rd quarter to the tune of 28 points. Will Sission was unconscious in the frame knocking down four, 3-pointers and scored all of his 18 in the quarter. Carson Gulick would make a pair of 3's as well as the Dawgs led big after 3, 63-38.
This was a total team effort as everyone on the roster would play. The Dawgs would put up another 19 points in the 4th quarter en-route to the 84-54 victory.
12 different players would score for the Dawgs, led by Carson Gulick and WIll Sission with 18 points a-piece.
Aiden Rickels had 9 with CJ Thew scoring 8.
Cooper Duldley dropped in 6.
Reyd Hobart and Finn Ryan each had 5.
Scotty Dalen had 4 points.
Ryan Conklin, Jayke Thew and Drew Queen all had 3 points.
Creed Scott scored 2.
With the win, the Dawgs snap a 3-game losing streak, pick up their first conference win and improve to 4-5 overall, 1-3 in league play.
