Whitefish Bulldogs Topple Top Seed Ronan

The Whitefish Bulldogs would play host to the top team in the conference, Ronan, Thursday night in another Wild Northwest "A" contest.

The Dawgs would enact a little revenge as they were a team on a mission in this one.

The Chiefs would go on a run to end the 1st quarter and led after one frame 16-11.

The 2nd quarter belonged to CJ Thew. Thew dropped in 16 of his game high 19 points in the 2nd as the Dawgs dropped in 24 points in the quarter and Whitefish took a 35-28 lead into the halftime break.

As of late, the 3rd quarter has been a kryptonite for the Dawgs. Thursday, the team responded and held on to a 47-38 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

In the final frame, the Dawgs, once again, dropped in 24 points in the frame. They were 14-20 from the Free Throw line in the final frame and pulled away for the 71-56 upset over Ronan.

Whitefish shot 24-32 from the charity stripe in this one.

The Dawgs had four players score in doulbe figurers and were led by the OrthoRehab Player of the Game, CJ Thew, who had 19 points. Carson Krack added 15 while Carson Gulick dropped in 14 and Mason Kelch added 12 for Whitefish.

Ronan was just 5-8 from the Free Throw line and were led by Josiah Misa with 11. Kolby Finley had 10.

With the win the Dawgs improve to 8-5 on the season, 4-3 in conference play.

Ronan falls to 9-5 overall, 6-2 in league play.
