Both Whitefish Basketball teams were back in action, Tuesday night, as each team faced off with Ronan
The girls would host the Maidens while the boys were on the road facing the Chiefs.
First up, a look at the girls game.
The Lady Bulldogs would find themselves down early but closed the 1st quarter on a 4-0 run and held a 13-10 lead after one quarter of play.
Whitefish would play styfling defense in the 2nd quarter holding the Maidens to just 1 point in the frame and the Lady Dawgs built an 8-point advantage heading into the halftime break up 19-11.
Ronan would flip the script in the 2nd half and outscored Whitefish in the 3rd quarter, 14-7, but the Lady Dawgs held onto the 26-25 advantage heading into the final frame.
The Maidens kept things going in the 4th as they built a 4-point lead late. Whitefish had chances but couldn't knock down the late shots as Ronan held on for the 40-36 win.
The Maidens shot 16-28 at the Free Throw line and were called for 10 less fouls than Whitefish in the contest. Whitefish went to the Charity Stripe just four times. That was to much for the Lady Dawgs to overcome.
Bailey Smith led the way for the Lady Dawgs (was named OrthoRehab Player of the Game) scoring 14 points (made two 3-pointers). Jude Perry had 9 for Whitefish.
Ronan was led by Maddy Illig with 15 points.
As for the boys game, the Bulldogs were on tjhe road taking on Ronan, the top team in the conference.
The Dawgs would grab the early lead, up 18-15 after the 1st quarter.
The 2nd quarter was a low scoring affair with each team combining for 14 points scored as the Chiefs held the 24-23 lead at the intermission.
The Chiefs would take control of the game in the 2nd half outscoring the Dawgs 17-7 in the third frame and held a 41-30 lead into the fourth.
Ronan would keep that energy in the final frame and held on for the 50-39 win.
That loss snaps a 4-game win streak for the Dawgs.
