The Whitefish High School baseball team was in Missoula over the weekend, taking part in the Western Montana Baseball Showcase.
The Dawgs would go 1-1 over the weekend.
Both games played were at Ogren Park, home of the Missoula Paddleheads.
They fell to Frenchtown, 6-0, on Friday. On Saturday, they defeated Corvallis 7-3.
Vs. Frenchtown, the Dawgs were shut out while only managing 2 hits in the contest, singles from both Tait Orme and Christian Schwaderer.
Michael Miller got the start. He pitched another gem, going 4 innings. Gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and struck out 5.
Vs. Corvallis, the Dawgs would get the bats going.
After the Blue Devils took an early 1-0 lead the Dawgs came alive in the bottom of the third, scoring 4 runs in the inning.
The Dawgs would put up another 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th to lead them to victory.
Tait Orme got the start in this one, going 4 innings of 3 hit ball, while giving up 2 runs (1 earned) and struck out 5.
Brady Howke led the way at the plate going 2-3 with a Run scored.
The Dawgs would also walk 9 times in this one.
Following the weekend's action, Whitefish Baseball is now 3-5 on the season, 2-1 in conference play.
Up Next: The Dawgs will be taking on conference foe, Bigfork, Tuesday afternoon at ABS Park in Evergreen. First pitch at 4pm.
On Thursday, the Dawgs will host Eureka for another conference game, at Smith Fields. First pitch at 5pm.
