    Tuesday marks the last day for the regular season here in Montana for High School basketball. With many teams having finished up there’s just a few games to be played. Those games do have a big impact on playoff seeding. The top three in the Northwest “A” conference are guaranteed a spot in the Divisional Tournament. The final four take part in a play-in tournament to decide the No. 4 seed. As we hit the final day of the regular season, here’s an update on Class “A” basketball. Below is a look at the most recent standings for the Whitefish girls and all of Class “A”. Teams are listed by Conference record, then overall record.

    NW “A” (Overall Record, followed by Conference Record)

    1. Bigfork 17-1 (12-0)
    2. Browning 13-5 (10-2)
    3. Columbia Falls 8-9 (7-4)
    4. Polson 9-9 (6-6)
    5. Whitefish 6-12 (3-9)
    6. Ronan 6-12 (3-9)
    7. Libby 1-17 (0-12)
    • Bigfork has won the conference and is the No. 1 seed out of the NW. Browning is the 2 seed with C-Falls the 3 seed.
    • Play-in Tournament sees 4 seed v. 7 seed, 5 seed v. 6 seed, on Thursday. Winners of those two games play to determine the No. 4 seed, on Saturday, out of the NW A.

    Up Next for Whitefish:

    Finishes as the NW “A” No. 5 seed and will host Ronan for a play-in game, Thursday.

    • Browning is the No. 1 Seed for the Divisional Tournament with Columbia Falls the No.2 seed out of the Northwest "A"
    • Bigfork defeated Ronan and will be the No. 3 seed. Ronan is the 4 seed and will take part in the Play-in Tourney.
    • Play-in Tournament begins Thursday.
    • No. 4 Seed Ronan faces No. 7 Seed Libby. No. 5 seed Whitefish faces No. 6 seed Polson, on Thursday.
    • Winners of those games will play against each other Saturday. That winner will determine the No. 4 seed out of the NW A

    Will finish as the NW “A” No. 5 seed and will host a play-in game, Thursday.

    • It is worth noting, not each conference takes part in a play-in tournament
    • According to the MHSA each conference is allowed to determine the 4 teams that go to the Divisional Tournament, from their side, in their own way.
    • Each Divisional Tournament, East and West, will be comprised of 8 total teams, 4 from each conference.
