The accolades continue to roll in for the former Whitefish Bulldog.
On Monday, it was announced that Head Coach of Montana State University-Billings, Luke Fennelly has been named the National Association of Basketball Coaches West Region Coach of the Year.
This comes on the heels after Fennelly was named the GNAC Coach of the Year.
Fennelly, a former Whitefish High standout, has been making waves this season at the helm of MSUB. This is his first year as head coach of the Yellowjackets and has helped lead them to back-to-back 20 win seasons. This is also their second trip in a row to the NCAA Tournament. In addition, Fennelly guided the Jackets to a GNAC regular season title. The first time that's ever been done by a first year head coach.
According to msubsports.com Fennelly has been quoted saying:"I'm extremely grateful to receive this award. There are a ton of great programs and coaches in the west region so, this is a complete honor. I just want to thank a special group of players, the coaching staff, trainers, SID's, and the rest of the Yellowjacket Athletic Department. Without them, none of this would be possible, and lastly GO 'JACKETS! #UBUNTU"
